Award-winning art director, Marc Whalen has worked for magazines such as Business 2.0, Condé Nast Traveler, Discover, Fortune, Fortune Small Business (FSB), Money, New York, O, The Oprah Magazine, Print, Scholastic, SPIN, Time Inc’s Custom Publishing Division and Time Out New York on various projects including their editorial content, advertorial content, branding, advertising, on-line content and supplement projects, illustration and photography.
In addition to Marc's work in publishing, he developed promotional materials, identity campaigns and film title sequences for numerous clients, including Bristalcone films, Grand Central Terminal, Heineken/EFFIE, Syfy Channel and the USA Network.
Marc is a recipient of the Gold Ozzie award from Folio and numerous Merit awards from the Society of Publication Designers. The Library of Congress acquired one of Marc’s posters, dealing with reaction to the September 11th attacks, for the permanent archive collection.
Marc resides in New York City where he enjoys contributing to the local fine art scene as a painter. A native of Queens, New York, Marc uses the city’s energy for inspiration in his visual art.
